Dearest Social Motion Families and Supporters,

We are excited to inform you of some big news! After working successfully together for a year as strategic alliance partners, The Center for Pursuit (TCFP) and Social Motion are excited to announce that effective July 1, 2022, we are merging to create a “lifepath” of services from one single source. This collaboration will create an unparalleled service provider that enables expansion of services and locations with the power to increase outcomes and impact for you and our community. You will be able to look forward to many new services from this combined entity, including:

• More locations around Houston as we expand social skills, Transition and Employability Center (TEC) and young adult social groups
• Behavioral health services
• Transition medicine services provided by Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine
• Dental clinic services specializing in care for those with special needs
• Employment services (supported and community-based employment)
• Parent resources
• Wider access to funding resources

This merger will not affect any of the Social Motion services on which you rely. Social Motion will remain intact as it becomes a program of TCFP, and I will continue serving the organization as a member of the TCFP Programs Committee.

• Your teachers are not changing
• Our staff is not changing
• Our locations are not changing
• Our programming is not changing
• Our name is not changing
• The impact of your donations will not change (We will operate under TCFP’s 501 (c)(3) status.)

The merger between TCFP and Social Motion, Inc. ensures program sustainability, operational growth opportunities, access to a state-of-the-art modern campus-style facility and the expansion of person-centered “wrap-around” services. Our combined expertise will provide a substantial all-in-one provider for clients and families. We hope you will be as excited about this news as we are!
