Jacqueline Gartland brings business and non-profit management expertise to the Social Motion Board. Jacqueline joined MetLife in 2012, now known as Mass Mutual Financial Group, and currently works with clients, donors and non-profits in building legacies and endowments that will benefit our community for years to come. Her practice includes planning for families that have dependents with special needs. Always with one foot in the for-profit world and another in non-profits, she was a founding executive board member of UNICEF, Houston/Galveston chapter, the capital campaign for the Hobby Center, UTMB Children’s Hospital and The Mercy Foundation of Houston and Monterrey Mexico. She helped her friend with the development of IF, Ivanhoe Foundation, a 501(c) 3, that helps people with neurological differences. She currently holds board positions on The Planned Giving Council of Houston. Before moving to Houston, Jacqueline spent her formative years growing up in Europe. She is of a Spanish mother and a German father and enjoyed the experience that an international education gave her. She returned to the United States after high school and attended and received a BFA from Syracuse University. Jacqueline is the mother of two adult children; they enjoy traveling together and hosting huge Spanish dinners where many enjoyable hours are spent with friends that they have made from Texas and around the world.
