TEEN WORK EXPERIENCE COMBO - TEC+VOLUNTEERING!

AGES: 13 - 15
COST: $2000/4 weeks ($500 deposit applied to tuition)
DATES: Session I June 1 – June 26 or Session II - July 6 – July 31
HOURS: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 1:00pm

A combination work experience for tweens! Tuesday and Thursday students will participate in volunteer work in the community. Monday and Wednesdays will be spent at our Transition and Employability Center learning various job skills. Fridays are social skills @ SOMO!

ASPIRE ACCESSORIES SUMMER INTERNSHIP

AGES: 15+
COST: $85 per day (1,2,3,4,5 day options)
HOURS: Monday - Friday 9-3 ($100 Intake required)

DRIVER'S ED AT YOUR SPEED

AGES: 15+
COST: $1000 plus SafeWay fee
DATES: June - July
HOURS: 3 days a week for 2 hours.

In collaboration with SafeWay Driving, this program provides special education support for a comprehensive driver’s education program, set at just the right speed for teens with learning differences. Opens the door to greater independence by mastering a new skill set!

FEDEX - PACKAGE HANDLER - EMPLOYMENT WITH 12 WEEKS OF JOB COACHING

AGES: 18+
COST: $2400 ($500 deposit applied to tuition)

TEC - SKILLS ASSESSMENT

AGES: 13+
COST: $2160/7 weeks ($500 deposit applied to tuition
DATES: June 8 – July 31 (off June 29 - July 3)
HOURS: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday

A hands on assessment in a simulated work environment. Student's competitive work potential, interest level and proper work behaviors will be assessed as well as various job skills. This is an assessment ONLY. A comprehensive report will be provided that can easily be used to develop career development plans, school to work plans, IEP's and transition plans.

TEC LEARNING EXPERIENCE

AGES: 18+
COST: $2520/7 weeks ($500 deposit applied to tuition)
DATES: June 8 – July 31 (off June 29 - July 3)
HOURS: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Monday - Thursday

A 7 week hands on learning experience in a simulated work environment. Students, parents and educators will be able to write better transition plans and plan more effectively for transition to employment because vital data will be provided.

TEC INDEPENDENCE BOOSTER

AGES: 16+
COST: $3780 ($500 deposit applied to tuition)
DATES: June 9 – July 31 (off June 29 - July 3)
HOURS: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

A summer jumpstart to independence that includes the following: 7 week hands on learning experience in a simulated work environment, afternoons will filled with social skills, practical independent living skills and health and wellness training and activity.

KITCHEN BASICS IN THE TEC LAB

AGES: 17+
COST: $500 ($100 deposit applied to tuition)
DATES: June 8 - July 31 (off June 29 - July 3)
HOURS: Mondays, Session I - 5:00 pm - 6:30, Session II - 7:00-8:30

Kitchen basics will emphasize reading and following simple package or recipe instructions by increasing knowledge of common terms and measurements and related safety and sanitation requirements. Sessions will cover: kitchen familiarity including equipment/appliance understanding/ safety; knife basics/safety; cleaning up and safe food storage practice. While some recipes may be completed, this class focuses on precursory kitchen basics not dining.)

BASIC FINANCIAL LITERACY

AGES: 17+
COST: $500 ($100 deposit applied to tuition)
DATES: June 8 - July 31 (off June 29 - July 3)
HOURS: Wednesdays 6:00-7:30

A 7 week basic course designed to increase understanding of money management and fundamentals necessary for independent living. Topics will include personal budgeting, banking basics, paying bills and understanding credit/debit cards. This will be a practical hands on learning experience taught by Soledad Tanner, MIB, a finance expert and mentor.
